Fishing Report: Hagg Lake
The forecast was for a wet and windy morning, the forecast was very accurate. We left for Hagg Lake at 7:30 this a.m, arrived about 8:15 a.m. We started trying to troll from the Eagle Point boat launch towards the dam. The wind made trolling very difficult, if not impossible. We decided to change tactics and bottom fished with Power Bait, in a cove, to get out of the wind, at least somewhat. We had one hit, which we missed in the first cove. After about 20 minutes we decided it was time to relocate. We anchored off another promising looking cove in about 30 feet of water, and were rewarded with 10 nice rainbow trout over the next two hours. We were limited with 10 trout by noon, and headed back to Portland. We literally caught the 10th trout on our last piece of Power Bait, time to restock! Only 5 or 6 boats on the water, but several bank anglers braving the elements, and we did see them catching fish.
