I have a Tekota 500 LC, which after several years of use, needed some repair. The drag was slipping and would not always engage. The line counter would also work only half the time. I was referred to Steve’s fishing reel repair and maintenance. I dropped it off on a Monday morning on my way to Garibaldi. During the week, I got a call, my reel was ready. I was quite impressed with the turnaround time, and even more impressed with the reel’s performance. Two of the ball bearings were replaced, and the reel was serviced/lubricated etc. It now works like a brand new reel, that has seen no use. The pricing and service provided was top notch.
A few weeks later I had a guide come loose on an Okuma Guide Select Classic, I do not think they glued it on properly to begin with, but did not want to pay the fee and wait months for repair by sending it to Okuma. I brought the rod and a Tekota 300 which was giving me issues to Steve’s. Again, the repair quality, service, and pricing were excellent.
