Port of Newport RV Park
Went to Newport for a quick trip on our 30th Wedding anniversary. Was not the Greek Isles Cruise we were hoping for, but like many things during Covid, adaptations had to be made. 30 years has taught us about compromise:)
We stayed at the Port of Newport RV Park, nice clean RV park. It is right at the marina perfect for an easy walk to the boat ramp and marina. Park was pretty full for this time of year but many parks seem to have more usage this year. Met a few other friendly RV visitors and Marina users. Nice visit overall, just wish we had stayed a few more days.
Views from the RV of the bridge.
Drove up to Depoe Bay. The smallest port, nice and calm on this day.
The Anchor was a nice little discovery, a new eatery and it was fabulous. Ling cod fish tacos with their house pickled vegetable, dare I say better than my wife’s….but she agreed. Good service, great food and tasty beer:)
Explored around Newport Area, Nye Beach, South Jetty, Lost Creek State Park, and of course the Newport boardwalk. More info on the area @ Discover Newport
We also had a meal at the South Beach Fish Market. Lots of options and some outdoor seating. Not as crispy of a fry as I prefer but was still quite tasty.
Typically, no visit to Newport is complete without a visit to the Oregon Coast Aquarium but with the covid reservations we were unable to visit this time.
