Cape Kiwanda: Pacific City, Oregon
Arrived on Memorial Day afternoon to avoid the crowds of a busy weekend. Light travel over to the coast and expecting, light crowds. Pacific City was still drawing a large crowd to the beach for Memorial Day picnics. I have never seen so many vehicles parked around the beach with the gatherings.
We pulled into our spot at Cape Kiwanda RV Resort nice and easy check in and pull thru parking, unhooked and headed over to the beach a short 5 min walk (2 blocks) and you are on the sand. Nice park, great location to the beach. They have domesticated bunny rabbits forging for carrots around the park we enjoyed watching them.
Overall we would give the RV Park good review. We did not use the pool/spa/work out room, but I am sure many enjoy those extra features. Clean grounds friendly staff. They have a well stocked grocery/deli/store for convenience. Bathrooms seemed to need a little attention, but that might have been due to it being the end of the Holiday weekend. To us the walk-ability to the beach was the best feature.
Enjoyed burgers and beer at the Pelican Brewing, they were busy but seemed to be staffed for the Holiday.
The second and third day of our trip the weather was fantastic. There was a light breeze and 60+ with full sun shine. Waves were not great but but that did not stop dozens of surfers from handing out and having fun for the day.
A great time in the area and we will return for sure.
