RV new memory foam mattress

Our RV is designed for a regular Queen size. However that requires one perosn to climb in over the other person to lay in the designed layout.

After much research we ordered a RV King size Memory Foam the 10 inch CoolBreeze Gel from Dynasty Mattress, Inc. Lots to consider with a new mattress but with an RV even more considerations.

• How much the the mattress weigh

• How high will it work with the ledge height

• Will it fit in the space, in our case we required a custom adjustment to the base.

• How would we get it out if needed to return. Research showed you can use a mattress bag, seal up the holes and attached a vacume cleaner hose to suck out the air. This would allow you to fold it up to a reasonable size to remove form RV and or mail back.

For us we created a couple supports using book shelf brackets and wood. The wood fits between the drawers so they will still open. We also cut a piece of plywood to allow support for the overhand additional 12” of bed. When we set up we put out the slider, slide out the plywood piece, the memory foam matress reshapes and fit the two braces in below the plywood, simple and quick.

So far it has worked out quite well 12+ nights over 3 trips.
